Maybe one of the best things about metamour relationships is that they are their own relationship. No matter what the connection does or doesn't look like, metamours have a direct line with each other. That line may be faint, dotted, bold, squiggly, straight, woven or braided, jagged, or even non-existent to the eye. The nature of the line may differ from season to season for a range of reasons having to do with all of the humans involved. Yet, there is still and always an energetic, cosmic line that runs directly from metamour to metamour. And this is perhaps something to be acknowledged and honored in myriad ways that are unique to the metamours in the relationship and that meet their collective desires and boundaries. What is something you notice, anything at all, about one or more of your metamour relationships right now? [image description: Two hearts on the right are smiling and holding hands. They are looking toward a third heart on the left who is saying, "Can we take it slowly?"] #MindfulHearts retrospective. On this day 2021. On this day 2020. On this day 2019. In response to the much-needed call for #COVIDCompassion, #MindfulHearts offers the sister chant of #QuarantineCompersion.
The art and skill of understanding the suffering of others and feeling and acting on the impulse to lessen that suffering goes hand in hand with the art and skill of feeling and acting on the impulse to nourish joy everywhere. May we all have moments of joy that grow and extend through the times we live in and beyond. |
