It's actually ok and even good to pick and choose what we tell other people about ourselves. This is not automatically deceitful and is rather a fact of life that we can become aware of — we will never be able to tell anyone everything about ourselves — and with this awareness make mindful and heart choices about what and how we share our personal stories. What helps you decide when, how much, and how you speak up about yourself? [image description: A smiling heart holds up a small glowing red heart in its open hand with its other hand on the edge of a box that is opened toward the heart. It appears as if the small heart has been retrieved from within the container. The smiling heart leans forward slightly to show the small heart to another heart that is standing on the other side of the box and smiling back. Text reads: "I honor my truth by mindfully sharing stories from my personal VAULT."] #MindfulHearts retrospective. On this day 2020. On this day 2019. Celebrating two years of daily cartoons.

In response to the much-needed call for #COVIDCompassion, #MindfulHearts offers the sister chant of #QuarantineCompersion.
The art and skill of understanding the suffering of others and feeling and acting on the impulse to lessen that suffering goes hand in hand with the art and skill of feeling and acting on the impulse to nourish joy everywhere. May we all have moments of joy that grow and extend through the times we live in and beyond. |
