The process of learning is a gray area itself. For example, when learning a new task or skill, during the learning process we are neither completely unable to do the task, nor are we completely knowledgeable about how to do it or completely capable of doing it. It can feel difficult to know how to describe our ability in this phase. Yet, we often need to be able to tell ourselves and others what we are learning. What helps you witness and describe to yourself and others what you are learning? [image description: Two hearts are in enveloped in a clump of red swirling and zigzag lines. The heart on the left has a quizzical facial expression and looks out at the viewer. The heart on the right has a soft smile and looks toward the other heart. Text reads: "Learning."] #MindfulHearts RETROSPECTIVE ~ 11/21 ~ on this day 2021 2020 2019 2018 ~ celebrating four years of daily cartoons ~

In response to the much-needed call for #COVIDCompassion, #MindfulHearts offers the sister chant of #QuarantineCompersion.
The art and skill of understanding the suffering of others and feeling and acting on the impulse to lessen that suffering goes hand in hand with the art and skill of feeling and acting on the impulse to nourish joy everywhere. May we all have moments of joy that grow and extend through the times we live in and beyond. |
