We can get pretty good at taking breaks and setting up relaxing experiences for ourselves and still fall into the trap or the pattern of not remembering how or being able to easily actually relax and rest in the moment. A deep breath, permission for and reminding of the goodness of relaxing, and the practice of present awareness can all be helpful in actually resting in moments of rest. When you do a restorative activity, what helps you truly rest in the moment? [image description: A great blue heron stands at the edge of a body of water, poised on one foot and leg, with the other leg tucked up inside its feathers. The heron is having the anthropomorphic thought, "You must learn to rest in moments of resting." A heart with a quizzical facial expression stands next to the heron and mimics the heron's posture. Text reads: "Heron Meditation."]
