Just like brains share information through energy transfer across the synaptic gaps from one neuron cell to another and over complex and long, well worn or novel neurological pathways, information and energy is shared across the social synapse from one person to another over complex and long, well worn or novel social pathways. We can also appreciate the malleability of social learning the way can be grateful for the brain's ability to change and form new ways of perceiving and choosing. Yet the synaptic gap from one neuron cell to another must be reasonably close to make the connection. Potentially, people also benefit from relative closeness when practicing fostering connection across the social synapse and deepening the flow of energy in relationships. What's one of your relationships where physical closeness has supported mutual intimacy, learning, and growth? [image description: Two engaged hearts are facing each other. One smiles while the other one says, "Hello again." There squiggles and dashes and symbols and leaves floating between them. Text reads, "1) Ongoing, 2) physiological, 3) and emotional, 4) synchrony. The Social Synapse."]
