When people around us die from suicide or experience suicidality it can have an impact on our own suicidality. This is in ways obvious, and in ways this fact can sneak up on us, especially when we don't talk openly and create communities of care in response to suicidality. What has helped you process the suicidality of others? ~ Suicide LifeLine dial or text 988 or dial 1.800.273.8255 [image description: Two hearts face each other. In response to the much-needed call for #COVIDCompassion, #MindfulHearts offers the sister chant of #QuarantineCompersion.
The art and skill of understanding the suffering of others and feeling and acting on the impulse to lessen that suffering goes hand in hand with the art and skill of feeling and acting on the impulse to nourish joy everywhere. May we all have moments of joy that grow and extend through the times we live in and beyond. |
