It can be hard at times to be with certain parts of our relationships, and that difficulty can actually be highlighted and even heightened in ways through the process of therapy. We may also have a hard time being with different parts of ourselves, and this too can become more pronounced through therapy. Therapy may actually push us to see more of the ways we can become internally fragmented, quarrelsome, and divisive. And if that wasn't enough, we can have challenges in the relationship we have with our therapist as well. No matter who is in the therapy — ourselves, our partners, our family, even friends or colleagues — relationship strife can be a hard part of our therapy journey. What's one way that you practice self-compassion for the hard relational parts of therapy? ~ ~ ~ #TherapyCan

In response to the much-needed call for #COVIDCompassion, #MindfulHearts offers the sister chant of #QuarantineCompersion.
The art and skill of understanding the suffering of others and feeling and acting on the impulse to lessen that suffering goes hand in hand with the art and skill of feeling and acting on the impulse to nourish joy everywhere. May we all have moments of joy that grow and extend through the times we live in and beyond. |
