Therapy can also get wild sometimes. We may have a wonderfully strange experience with our therapist, or we may stumble into a wildly new way of looking at or exploring our world, or we may encounter wild parts of ourselves that don't typically come out to play with others or even with ourselves. For a period, we may become mythical, scandalous, untamed, profligate with our emotions, unglued, euphoric, quirky, impassioned, and much more in our self-expression and self-actualization, trying on new ways of being. These wild, and perhaps previously inarticulate, places in us may be very grateful to be acknowledged, listened to, and nurtured by us. What's something wild that you've experienced in therapy or in your development as a person? ~ ~ ~ #TherapyCan

In response to the much-needed call for #COVIDCompassion, #MindfulHearts offers the sister chant of #QuarantineCompersion.
The art and skill of understanding the suffering of others and feeling and acting on the impulse to lessen that suffering goes hand in hand with the art and skill of feeling and acting on the impulse to nourish joy everywhere. May we all have moments of joy that grow and extend through the times we live in and beyond. |
