Sometimes our best experiences in therapy are simply being listened to, actively and fully, about whatever we're wanting and needing to say on a particular day or on a regular basis. Perhaps these experiences are good in large measure because the loving presence and attention of a listening and interested other can be fundamentally soothing for humans. Sometimes our best experiences in therapy are simply listening and hearing the perspective of another engaged, knowledgable, or kind being who wants to share with us and support us. Perhaps these experiences are good in large measure because others openly offering information, with no requirement, expectation, or judgment to adopt the information, can also be fundamentally soothing for humans.
