This summer my partner gave me a new iPad. I'm stoked! I'm also still getting used to the Apple Pencil. LOL. But with this new tool I'm updating my signature. Additionally, I'm taking this moment with the Jewish new year and the two-and-a-half-year anniversary of my #MindfulHearts practice to reflect on how I have changed this past year and past couple of years, as well as how my art has changed over the years. What have you seen change over the years in my artwork? What has changed over the past year or several years in your own artwork and creative practices? MindfulHearts retrospective. On this day 2019. On this day 2018. Celebrating two years of daily cartoons. [image description: A group of hearts, some without faces and some with, are grouped together in space. Some of the hearts are filled in with color and a three dimensional effect, some have color outside of their contour lines, and some are just shaky outlines. The ones with faces have a range of facial expressions from happiness, to fear, to wild-eyed amusement. All together the hearts share the thought, "We feel different."]

In response to the much-needed call for #COVIDCompassion, #MindfulHearts offers the sister chant of #QuarantineCompersion.
The art and skill of understanding the suffering of others and feeling and acting on the impulse to lessen that suffering goes hand in hand with the art and skill of feeling and acting on the impulse to nourish joy everywhere. May we all have moments of joy that grow and extend through the times we live in and beyond. |
